Diet Plans: Making Them Work For YOU

If you're currently on a weight loss journey, you've likely seen and heard of diets that promise results. Some people swear that all such diets are just fads and do not work, though this is not entirely true. There are many different types of weight loss plans, all with their own strengths and weaknesses. Before you commit to one, it's important to look into the details so that you know what you are signing up for. Here are a few different diets, along with some strengths of their program, and things you may want to look out for.

Keto

Keto is a high-fat, extremely low carb diet, which often yields good results when heeded. The diet should be 70% fats, 25% protein, and 5% carbohydrates. There are several ways to create a diet that meets those specifications, though there is a clean way and a dirty way to do keto. Clean keto looks like someone who eats a lot of vegetables, drinks a lot of water, and a quarter of their diet is meat. Dirty keto is someone who eats a lot of meat, sometimes wrapped in bacon. Keto is more than just meat.

Paleo

Paleo is a diet which is often referred to as the caveman diet. Think about the foods a caveman would eat: meats, veggies, fruits, berries, and nuts. Processed foods are discouraged. Many people who do the paleo diet describe it as clean eating.

Nutrisystem

Nutrisystem is a weight loss plan that takes your willpower out of the equation. Instead of encouraging you to make good food choices, they simply send you all the food you should eat each day. Nutrisystem is really helpful for those who are unsure of what to eat, as well as taking the challenge out of portion control. The challenge of Nutrisystem is that it can be quite expensive, though many diets encourage expensive foods.

The Dukan Diet

The Dukan diet is similar to keto, though it takes place in four phases. There are two weight loss phases as well as two phases where the goal is simply to maintain your weight. These extra phases help people to be more consistent with their dieting, instead of dropping weight and picking it up again.

In conclusion, no diet is easy, though many are worth it. Try to find one that will work well for you, and then stick with it. You can do it!
